The CarbonCure Technology chemically converts carbon dioxide captured from industrial emitters into a nano-mineral that becomes permanently embedded within concrete. The process improves concrete’s compressive strength and enables concrete producers to realize manufacturing efficiencies while reducing the concrete’s carbon footprint. The CarbonCure Technology has the potential to save over 4,000 tonnes CO2 annually at each Pan-United concrete plant.

Employing over 1,500 people, Pan-United is Singapore’s largest concrete and cement company, with operations expanding across Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. It is the first concrete firm to attain the Singapore Green Building Council’s (SGBC’s) “Leader” certification, which is the SGBC’s highest level of sustainability certification.

“While reducing the overall carbon footprint, we believe this special process has multiple benefits to enable sustainability gains not only for concrete producers and the construction industry but also for developers in their building projects,” he noted.

CarbonCure’s entry into Asia represents a quick delivery on one of the major objectives of this investment, which was to accelerate CarbonCure’s expansion into international markets and commercialize new value-added CO2 technologies.
