Arno is director-founder of Airborne with 20 years of experience in the advanced composites field.
Airborne is a technology leader in the design, production and industrialization of advanced composite products for the aerospace and marine sectors. Airborne has the ambition to take the lead in the automation and digitization of small to mid size composite parts design and manufacture, and are currently building a suite of low capex flexible automation solutions, which will be integrated into the digital backbone of their partner Siemens. The ultimate goal is to create disruptive digital design and production systems, converting raw materials directly into high end products at radically low conversion costs.
Airborne established their legacy in automation through composite solutions intended for the Oil and Gas industry and designed and built fully automated manufacturing capability for continuous thermoplastic tubulars for deepwater application.
In 2012, Airborne Oil and Gas commissioned its newly built factory in Ijmuiden, The Netherlands. Two years later, the corporate spin-off of Airborne Oil and Gas from the Airborne Holding, attracted shareholders such as SHELL, Chevron, Saudi Aramco and Evonik.Arno holds a Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Technical University of Delft, The Netherlands.
