New Business Development Director, Solvay s.a.
Dr Léopold Demiddeleer has a PhD in Physical Chemistry from Brussels University and is currently Vice President of the New Business Board of Solvay, a large pharmaceutical & chemical company based in Brussels, Belgium. He started his career in 1976 teaching mathematics and physics and joined Solvay in 1981. From 1981 to 2001, Dr. Demiddeleer was responsible for several research and development initiatives in catalyst, high performance materials and global polyolefins. In 2001, Dr. Demiddeleer was appointed New Business Development Director. He has been active as a member of the EC Advisory Council on Fuel Cells and is currently Vice President of the Board of EIRMA (European Industrial Research Management Association).
